Recipe of Samosa | Popular street food |


Samosas - can be sweet or not sweet. Both are deep-fried. They are prepared with different fillings; today I have a vegetable one. The pies are very spicy due to the addition of spices. Very tasty, I recommend trying. Well, do not forget to prepare Masala tea for samosas, it will be even tastier.

Ingredients:

 For the Dough( pati ):

  • Wheat flour - 2.5 cups
  •  egg - 1 pc.
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - 150 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.


For filling:

  • Potatoes - 4-5 pcs.
  • Green peas - 3 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Onions - 1 pc.
  • Ground paprika - 1 tsp
  • Ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp
  • A mixture of spices (ground ginger, coriander, turmeric, cumin) - 1 tsp

Step by step recipe :


Method for filling:

  • To make Samosa Pies, prepare the items listed.
  • Boil peeled potatoes in salted water until tender. We drain the water. 
  • Chop the onions finely. 
  • Add onions, peas (strained from liquid), oil, salt and spices to the potatoes. 
  • Knead potatoes. Leave the filling to cool. 
  • Grind the filling


Method for Dough (pati):

  •  To prepare the dough break the egg into flour (2 cups), pour the butter, mix. 
  • Pour in water, salt, mix the mass again. 
  • Adding the remaining half a glass of flour, knead the elastic dough. 
  • Cover the dough with a napkin or a bowl and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.


 Preparation of Samosa:

  • Roll out part of the dough into a sausage 
  • Divide the dough into pieces 
  • Roll out the dough into a circle, spread on 1 tablespoon. fillings. 
  • We pinch the dough with a triangle. 
  • Heat oil in a frying pan.  
  • Put the pies in a skillet with butter
  • Fry on each side over low heat until golden brown. 
  • Put the pies on a paper towel.
