Chapli kebabs are the most famous among the street foods of Pakistan. And why not because they are quite unique from the other kebabs in the market. Now women also want to make the chapli kebab at home to be sure about the hygiene and proportion of spices. And, obviously they want the same taste as the one in markets. So, here we are to help you up with the recipe of chapli kebab straight from the sellers. With their best Tamarind Chutney (Dip)
Ingredients for kebabs:
- 800 grams of minced chicken
- 3-4 green chilies
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp white pepper
- 1 onion (medium size)
- 1/4 cup green coriander
- 1/4 cup chicken powder
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tsp of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/2 garam masala (hot spice)
- 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
- 4 tablespoons cream
- 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
Ingredients for Tamarind Chilli Chutney (Dip):
- 1 cup tamarind pulp water
- 1/2 tablespoon mango powder
- 1 cumin
- 3 whole red chillies
- 1/4 cup mint leaves
- 1/4 cup coriander
- 4 green chillies
- 1/4 cup onion
Recipe for the sauce:
- In a blender, add tamarind pulp, mango powder, cumin, red pepper, mint, coriander, green pepper and onion.
- Blend until you get a consistent sauce. Add water if needed. Your sauce is ready.
- Put mince, green chilli, salt, white pepper, onion, coriander, gram powder, egg, butter, black pepper, coriander powder, hot spices, ginger garlic paste and red chilli powder in a chopper.
- Chop until all ingredients are well combined.
- Grease your hands and make round kebabs from moss. Place a slice of tomato on top.
- Leave the kebabs on both sides until lightly golden brown.
- Serve the delicious chapli kebab with tamarind sauce and enjoy.
- Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
- Cooking time: 30-35 minutes
