Recipe of Pink Tea ( Kashmiri chai )



Pink tea is commonly available on streets in winter season. It is a famous and loved by all kinda tea i.e. people make sure to add this in their event or wedding menu. 

Now, What is pink tea? 

Pink tea also kashmiri chai is a traditional tea, originating from the Kashmir valley. Which is said to be made by gun powder ( Green Tea leaves, rolled in small balls ) , milk and baking soda.

Now, Let me share the recipe of Kashmiri chai. So let's start with the ingredients.


Ingredients: 

Ingredients for kehva:

  • Aniseed flower (Baadyaan ka phool)   1 pc 
  • Cinnamon (daarcheeni)                         1 pc 
  • Baking soda                                           1/2 tbsp 
  • Pink tea leaves                                        2 pcs ( you can find in any tea shop) 
  • water                                                       2 litres


Ingredients for  tea: 

  • Milk                                1 1/2 cup  
  • Water                               3 cups  
  • Kehva                              1 or 1/2 cup  
  • Sugar                               3 tbsp  
  • Salt                                   1/2 tbsp  
  • Chopped dry fruits   (for presentation)

Step By Step Recipe: 

Method for Kehva:

  • Boil all ingredients together in a sauce pan, until 1 litre left .
  • Now strain the mixture.  
  • And store in a bottle which you'll use further to make tea.  
  • Let it cool for some time

Method for tea: 

  • Add milk, water and kehva in a sauce pan. 
  • Boil the mixture until it gets thick. 
  • Add 3 tbsp sugar and 1/2 tbsp salt in it. 
  • Stir for more 2 minutes to mix all ingredients well 
  • Now pour the tea in the cups

Presentation: 

Serve the tea with chopped dry fruits like almonds, pistachio, walnuts. Sprinkle the chopped mixture into the cup of tea.
