2 ~ Ideas for making simple Christmas Wreath

2 ~ Ideas for making simple Christmas Wreath

1. Gold wired Wreath

With a piece of aluminum wire, a little knack and some decoration, make a pretty Christmas door sign! You will get a beautiful decoration to hang to embellish your home in Christmas colors.

Material:

  • Aluminum wire - Gold - 1 mm x 16 m
  • Metallic wire - Silver - 1.2 mm x 3 m
  • Aluminum wire - Silver - 2 mm x 10 m
  • Foam paper snowflake
  • Hammered Aluminum wire - 2mm x 5m

Method:

  • Using a round support, a large box for example, go around 3 times with aluminum wire.
  • Close everything by making a loop that will serve as a tie.
  • On a piece of paper, write "Christmas".
  • Then reproduce the pattern in aluminum wire.
  • Do not hesitate to use pliers to bend the aluminum wire if necessary.
  • Remember to provide small margins for the ties.
  • Next, tie the word you just formed onto the circle by wrapping the ends.
  • Then add all kinds of Christmas embellishments like stars, bells, snowflakes.
  • Finally, using a snow pen for example, decorate your decoration for a snow effect resting on the structure.

2. Lace door wreath

Easily reproduce this lace-like paper doily door wreath, which should particularly make its effect for Christmas, but also on the occasion of a wedding.

Material:

  • A cardboard circle (here 25cm in diameter)
  • About 40 paper doilies (20cm in diameter here, so I cut them in 2)
  • Paper to cover the back of the cardboard.
  • A ribbon to hang the crown.
  • Mini Christmas balls.
  • A glue gun and 6 refills.
  • A stapler.
  • Scissors.

Method:

  • Glue paper on the cardboard circle.
  • It will not be seen, since it is at the back, but you get a "cleaner" product at the end.
  • Fold the ribbon in half then staple it on the right side of the circle. It will be camouflaged by the doilies.
  • If your doilies are a bit large, like here, cut them in half with scissors.
  • Then roll up the half placemats into a cone and staple them.
  • Leave 1 cm between the tip of the cone and the clip, to allow gluing.
  • Here 80 cones were used for the wreath but this number depends on the size of the carton and the size of the placemats.
  • Fold the tip of the cone, it will be glued flat.
  • Start the first round by depositing a little glue towards the inside of the circle and place your point of placemat on it.
  • Continue to gradually add glue and doilies.
  • Finish the inside of the circle with your doilies.
  • Add glue to the outside of the circle to glue a second row of doilies.
  • You should now have finished your second round of placemats.
  • Do not hesitate to "ruffle" them a little. You should not see the cardboard below.
  • Apply a little hot glue, with a glue gun, on the Christmas balls and place them regularly in the middle of the doilies.
  • And voila, your door wreath is now complete! Find a place for it, sheltered from bad weather.

Your Christmas wreaths are finished, you just have to fix it in your interior. Feel free to embellish and personalize it as you wish with other embellishments of your choice.
